Delivery Timelines
Our Delivery Process
Once the driver arrives at the drop off location with the container, it will take approximately 15-20 minutes to unload it.
Delays may occur due to wait times, inadequate space, and improper container loading instructions resulting in additional time (more than 30 minutes after arriving on site to start delivery) can result in additional costs.
Here are our guidelines to have an efficient delivery on site.
Site Access and Clearance
- Minimum of 65 feet of straight-line clearance to deliver a 20’ shipping container
- Minimum of 110 feet of straight-line clearance to deliver a 40’ shipping container
- Width requirement: Minimum 14’
- Height requirement: Minimum 18’
Obstructions
Ensure that the desired location and access way are free of obstructions, including power lines, tree branches, parked cars, and other obstructions that could damage the truck or the container.
The truck and trailer is 13’6″. It is 13’6” tall before it tilts and up to 18’ tall at its peak during delivery.
Ground Conditions
The truck, trailer and container weight can exceed 50,000 lbs. We recommend delivering on firm ground that supports the weight and prevents the truck and trailer from sinking. This is a factor on grass, or if the truck needs to cross an unpaved field or similar terrain. Drivers will assess delivery conditions on site, and determine if they can proceed with the delivery as planned.
Drivers may suggest an alternate location based on environmental conditions, hazards or terrain.
Level Ground
Containers need to be sitting on a relatively level ground surface.
We recommend the following surfaces: concrete pad, pavement, clear stone base, railroad ties, and 6′ x 6′ x 8′ PT lumber.
Door Loading Direction
The placement of the doors matters when looking at the final placement of the container.
If the doors are loaded to facing the cab of the truck, the doors will be the last part of the container placed. If the doors are loaded facing the rear of the truck, the doors will be the first part of the container placed.
Cold Weather Issues
Containers must not be frozen to the ground or have debris stuck to the bottom of it.
This can be prevented with the use of PT lumber or railroad ties places below the container.
End of Rental Pickup Procedure
At the end of the rental period, we will arrange a pickup date and time.
It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure the container is emptied, cleaned and accessible for pickup (additional charges may apply for on-site waiting time if the container is inaccessible or contains debris). Containers MUST be returned in the same condition as it was loaned, allowing for normal wear and tear.
